About Priya Venkatesan, MD
I grew up in Pleasanton, California. After graduating from Stanford University in 2001, I decided that I should see the world beyond California. I spent 9 wonderful years in Durham, North Carolina, where I attended Duke University School of Medicine and completed my residency in Dermatology there as well. I loved living in North Carolina, but for many reasons decided to move back to the Bay Area with my family in 2010. It was a very easy decision for me to join Kaiser Permanente. I enjoy working in a system where the focus is on preventing disease and keeping patients healthy. Importantly, the close integration makes care more efficient for patients. I chose to specialize in dermatology for several reasons: I love seeing both adults and children in my practice, caring for a wide variety of skin diseases, and using surgical and medical clinical skills. I am particularly interested in the care of hospitalized patients with dermatologic needs. Dermatology and good skin care are key aspects of everyone's health.
