About Peggy Chern, MD
Peggy Chern, MD completed her Dermatology specialty training at the University of Iowa, where she served as Chief Resident in her last year. She grew up in southern California and received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, graduating summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. After earning a master’s degree from the University of California at Berkeley, she received her medical degree from Washington University in St. Louis, graduating Alpha Omega Alpha. Dr. Chern completed fellowship training in Mohs Surgery/Procedural Dermatology at Scripps Clinic in La Jolla, California. She has a particular interest in skin cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment, including Mohs micrographic surgery and cutaneous reconstruction. She has authored many book chapters and scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals with a focus on skin cancer and skin-wound healing. Dr. Chern practices dermatologic surgery and procedural dermatology, including Mohs surgery, laser, vein, and cosmetic procedures. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the American College of Mohs Surgery, the Texas Medical Association, and the Travis County Medical Association. Dr. Chern served as the President of the Austin Derm Society in 2016.
