About Paul D. Smith, MD
Dr. Smith grew up in central Illinois. He attended the University of Illinois for college and medical school. He was named ""James Scholar"" in his medical school class for his research on micro-surgical techniques. He moved to Tampa for his general surgery training. He has published over 20 papers in the field of plastic surgery and wound healing while working at the Institute of Wound Repair, Regeneration and Rehabilitation. He then moved to Dallas to complete his training in plastic surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern. Recently he has published works in the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Journal on liposuction techniques, neck rejuvenation, fat grafting, and breast reconstruction. He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a member of the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons. Dr. Smith is currently the president of the Tampa Bay Plastic Surgery Society. Dr. Smith is married with one son. He has two dogs and is an accomplished artist. His artwork consists of oil painting and both clay and stone sculpture. His clinical focus is on breast, body Contouring and facial rejuvenation.
