About Paul Figlia, MD

Aside from medicine, Dr. Figlia’s other passion is art. He has spent his lifetime studying and collecting many genres of art ranging from ancient to mid-century. Dr. Figlia’s interest in art offered educational benefits, which directed him to pursue a career in aesthetic surgery. Dr. Figlia is currently an Attending Associate at St. Barnabas Medical Center (Livingston, NJ), Morristown Medical Center (Morristown, NJ), Overlook Medical Center (Summit, NJ), and Chief of Plastic Surgery and Assistant Chairman, Department of Surgery at JFK Medical Center (Edison, NJ). Dr. Figlia has a Bachelor of Science degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University and later studied Art and Language at the Universita per Stranier di Perusia (Perusia, Italy). He graduated with a Doctor of Medicine degree from Rutgers Medical School (formerly University of Medicine & Dentistry of NJ). He was an Intern and Resident of General Surgery at St. Barnabas Medical Center. Next, he was a Junior Fellow at the Microvascular Surgery Center in Washington, DC and continued to pursue General Surgery as a Resident and Chief Resident at Washington Hospital Center (Washington, DC). He was an invited guest and studied under world renowned cranial-facial surgeon, Dr. Paul Tessier, at L’Hôpital Foch in Paris, France. He completed his Plastic Surgery Fellowship as Chief Resident at University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (Oklahoma City, OK). Subsequently, he was Chief Resident in Cosmetic Surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital (New York City) before entering his private practice.
