About Nicole J. O'Neill, MD

Dr. O’Neill is a Medical Doctor and Board Certified Internist. She is also a Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy Specialist, Nutritional and Fitness advocate and an Aesthetic Expert. Doctor O’Neill received her Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology and Molecular Biology, Pre-Medicine, double minor in chemistry and psychology at the University of Michigan. Dr. O’Neill’s Medical Doctorate was earned at Wayne State University School of Medicine. Post-graduate training and residency training was performed at St. Joseph Mercy Health System in Ann Arbor. There is something immensely satisfying to have a career enhancing beauty through the work of your own hands and creativity. For Dr. O’Neill, performing aesthetic procedures or prescribing lifestyle optimization therapies is an art on the finest canvas, the human body. The rewards lie deeper than skin deep beauty, but more so in how these seemingly subtle changes can transform self-confidence allowing clients to feel renewed, rejuvenated and inspired. A native of Michigan, Dr. Nicole O’Neill (formerly Dr. Tromble) pursued a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology and Molecular Biology, Pre-Medicine, double minor in chemistry and psychology at the University of Michigan. Dr. O’Neill’s Medical Doctorate was earned at Wayne State University School of Medicine. Post-graduate training and residency training was performed at St. Joseph Mercy Health System in Ann Arbor. After completing one year of residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology Dr. O’Neill made a decision to pursue a profession with greater breadth, in Internal Medicine with a focus on Women’s Health. While she arrived at a medicine based career, she considers herself a Proceduralist. Although passionate about office and OR procedures a difficult decision was made to forego the surgical aspect of Ob/Gyn. As a resident of Internal Medicine, Dr. O’Neill sought out opportunities with procedurally skilled mentors and became proficient in a variety of outpatient procedures, particularly dermatologic. She spent several months of residency concentrating on office dermatology as well as performed hospital consults on complex patients with dermatologic conditions. She developed a strong interest in cosmetic aspects of dermatology and pursued advanced training as a resident alongside Dermatology colleagues. After completing residency training, Dr. O’Neill earned the distinction of Chief Resident and Fellow of Internal Medicine. An additional post-doctorate year was spent with St. Joseph Mercy Hospital serving as an attending rounding on inpatient medicine service as a hospitalist both on teaching and non-teaching services. She served as an attending on the academic teaching faculty, rounding on hospital wards with residents, and supervised outpatient academic Internal Medicine residents. As a fellow, she developed teaching curricula and lead morning conference and lectures for residents. She mentored residents in academia in several facets, reviewing and critiquing medical literature and analyzing studies and data as well as mentoring residents on presenting their research at Grand Rounds. She earned second place for her research in our regional research forum among colleagues from a variety of disciplines. She went on to develop a Women’s Health curriculum for the residency program and served as an attending physician in Women’s Health Clinic teaching residents for 1.5 years, while pursuing national certification as a distinguished provider for the care of menopausal women’s special needs through the NAMS foundation. Dr. O’Neill, as a clinician has a deep respect for academia, and still practices evidence based medicine. Dr. O’Neill was recruited by a private practice, Chelsea Medicine and Laser, in Chelsea, MI. It was a perfect fit as it was very procedurally oriented, offered a hybrid of complex internal medicine, women’s health and aesthetics. She was involved with creating a successful aesthetic business offering clients a large variety of procedures including Laser Hair removal, Hair enhancement, as well as tattoo removal. Services include: MedLite Laser Facials; IPL Photorejuvnenation; Levulan Phototherapy; Chemical peels and Microdermabrasion, and a variety of Allergan injectables. All physicians are certified injectors, being highly trained by Allergan and regularly attend conferences to learn the newest techniques. Dr. O’Neill, also has experience assisting Dr. Howlin, with minimally invasive lipolysis in office. Dr. Howlin, extensively trained by a plastic surgeon, has been providing beautiful results for more than 7 years. Additionally, Dr. O’Neill has been trained professionally on Smart Skin Ablative Co2 skin Rejuvenation.
