About Nicolas Uzcategui, MD
Dr. Uzcategui specializes in Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He received his medical degree from the Central University of Venezuela Medical School in Caracas, Venezuela. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine at Maryland General Hospital in Baltimore, and his Ophthalmology residency at the University of Louisville Kentucky Lions Eye Center. Dr. Uzcategui has completed both fellowships in Pediatric Ophthalmology at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and an American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) sponsored fellowship at the University of Southern California Doheny Eye Institute, Los Angeles. He has served as an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at The Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California, and at Dartmouth Medical School where he actively taught residents and fellows in Ophthalmology and Oculofacial Plastic Surgery. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Uzcategui is a published author in peer reviewed journals and chapters in Oculoplastic textbooks. He has been an invited guest lecturer at numerous scientific meetings and Ophthalmology Departments nationally and internationally. Dr. Uzcategui is fluent in English, Spanish and German.
