About Nancy P. Chen, MD
Dr. Nancy Chen received her honors Bachelor of Arts degree at UC Berkeley and her Master of Science degree in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry at UC Irvine. Following her dream, she moved to Boston and obtained her Medical Degree at Tufts University, School of Medicine. She graduated with high honors as a member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Upon completing her internship in Internal Medicine at UCLA-San Fernando Valley Program in Sylmar, California, she continued her training at UC San Diego Dermatology Residency Program. In her last year of training, she was chosen to serve as the Chief Resident. Dr. Chen is certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is an active member and fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and American Society for Mohs Surgery. She has served as a past President of the San Diego Dermatology Society as well as the past President of California Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery. Currently, she serves as a Board of Director for the California Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery. Outside of her clinical work at Escondido Dermatology Inc., Dr. Chen volunteers for skin cancer screening in her community. She also reaches out to different communities and populations by giving health seminars to the general public co-sponsored by Palomar-Pomerado Hospital. In her spare time, Dr. Chen enjoys traveling, skiing, reading, as well as spending time with her husband and daughters. She is also fluent in Mandarin and Taiwanese.
