"Dr. Whetstone has lived and practiced in the Las Colinas area since 1989. He and his wife of over 30 years, Teri, have 3 children and 2 grandchildren. He is a family man whose interests include golf, reading historical non-fiction, scuba diving, water sports, college football and Dallas Stars Hockey. Dr Whetstone is able to evaluate the constantly changing field of cosmetic surgery and discern which new advances are beneficial to his patients. With exceptional education and experience, Dr. Whetstone has built a reputation that has resulted in an established practice at the Las Colinas Centre for Plastic Surgery for many years. Dr. Whetstone has many loyal patients and has a reputation among health care professionals as a committed and caring physician. He maintains a special interest in cosmetic surgery of the face and body and is noted for his natural appearing results for facelifts, breast augmentation and lifts and body contouring using the latest and most successful surgical techniques. In 1983, Dr. Whetstone graduated from the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. A gifted student, he graduated in the top 10. He also receive the Mosby Award for Academic Excellence, an award few students receive. For the next four years, he engaged in general surgery training, he was awarded a residency in plastic and reconstruction surgery at the highly renowned Cronin, Brauer and Biggs surgical residency program in Houston, where he received extensive training in cosmetic procedures. He also received training at the highly acclaimed M.D. Anderson Hospital, where he focused on reconstructive cancer surgery – including post-mastectomy breast reconstruction and microsurgery. Dr. Whetstone was very fortunate to have trained with world-renowned plastic surgery pioneer, Dr. Tom Cronin, inventor of the breast implant. Consequently, he has very extensive experience in breast surgery. Most importantly, Dr. Whetstone has the highest level of surgical training that allows him to be a member of the American Board of Plastic Surgery, reserved for the surgeons with the highest level of plastic surgery training. A love of the aesthetics in life and his remarkable skill in surgery led Dr. Whetstone to the field of cosmetic surgery. His goal is seeking the best outcome for each patient. Achieving desired results require not only careful planning, attention to detail, and advanced techniques but also requires a commitment from both the surgeon and the patient.
