About Melissa L. Meldrum-Aaberg, MD
Melissa Meldrum-Aaberg, M.D. has over eleven years experience in prestigious residency programs, fellowships and faculty appointments. This in-depth training and experience has allowed her to develop a practice dealing specifically with cosmetic and functional issues of the eyelids, brows, and face, earning her recognition by ""Grand Rapids Magazine"" as one of West Michigan's Best Doctors. Before opening her medical practice in 2001, Dr. Meldrum-Aaberg had already distinguished herself through her medical training. In 1989, she graduated with distinction from the University of Michigan Medical School, where she was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. She then completed her ophthalmology and oculoplastic surgery training at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, University of Miami in Florida, rated first in the nation by Ophthalmology Times and US News and World Report. She also completed fellowship training in ocular and orbital tumors at University of California, San Francisco. She has served as faculty at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. She has trained many residents throughout the years as well as written many journal articles and textbook chapters. Dr. Meldrum-Aaberg is board-certified and a member of the American Medical Society, the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
