About Melanie L. Mccarty, MD
Dr. Melanie McCarty diagnoses and treats eye diseases and conditions, including performing cataract surgery, and also specializes in ophthalmic plastics and reconstructive surgery. She completed advanced training in ophthalmic plastics and reconstructive surgery at the University of Pennsylvania Scheie Eye Institute, Children’s Hospital, in Philadelphia. She applies her skills to the science and art of repairing damage to the eyelids, tear ducts, face and bones surrounding the eye, which can be caused by injury or disease. Dr. McCarty also enhances her patients’ appearance through the latest surgical and non-surgical facial cosmetic procedures. Based on her advanced training, experience and medical judgment, she is an invited member of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. McCarty and her husband, also a physician, are raising three busy boys and have made Tucson their home.
