About Matthew J. Hancey, MD
Dr. Hancey is chief of the division of plastic surgery at Riverton Hospital and has an active plastic surgery practice at Alta View Hospital with the Intermountain Alta View Plastic Surgery Specialists. He also practices at Intermountain Southridge Clinic. Dr. Hancey performs all aspects of plastic and reconstructive surgery, including cosmetic surgery. He has previously performed free cleft lip and palate surgeries in conjunction with Operation Smile. Dr. Hancey has a particular interest in hand surgery and the treatment of skin cancer in all its forms. While at Penn State, he received additional training in skin oncology, learning advanced techniques in melanoma surgery including sentinel lymph node biopsy. Dr. Hancey has published numerous papers and presented at national and international conferences on topics such as skin cancer, wound healing, and congenital malformations. Additionally, Dr. Hancey has over two years of desktop research experience and knowledge with VAC wound treatment modalities. Dr. Hancey loves the breadth and variety of plastic surgery, and he appreciates the opportunity to improve function, eradicate cancer, and uplift the spirit with his surgical practice
