About Matthew Coons
Matthew S. Coons, MD is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Surgeons and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is director of Plastic Surgery at East Orange General Hospital. Dr. Coons earned a Bachelor of Science with Honors from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and his Doctor of Medicine Degree from New York Medical College. Dr. Coons trained in General Surgery at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. In addition to General Surgery Residency, Dr. Coons was a Research Fellow at Maimonides Medical Center, and Downstate Medical Center.
