About Mark R. Sultan, MD, FACS
Dr. Sultan graduated with Phi Beta Kappa honors from Brandeis University and received his M.D. from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons where he was also elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Society. He went on to complete his internship and residency in general surgery at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, and his plastic surgery residency at the same institution, where he was chosen as Chief Resident. He received the Allen O. Whipple Award for Outstanding Performance in Surgery. Dr. Sultan was also awarded a fellowship in Head and Neck Surgery and Microvascular Reconstruction at Emory University Affiliated Hospitals in Atlanta.Since 1990, Dr. Sultan has held teaching appointments and has trained many residents in plastic surgery. He is an Associate Professor of Clinical Surgery at Columbia University, and is currently an Attending Surgeon at Beth Israel Medical Center and St. Luke's/Roosevelt Hospital. He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
