About Maria E. Kendall, MD
Dr. M. Elena Kendall, a native of Chile and fluent in Spanish, has resided in the Greater Miami area for over 40 years. Educated at the University of Miami (UM), a magma cum laude graduate with a BS in Biology and Chemistry, as well as an Honors graduate at the UM School of Medicine, she has practiced Dermatology since 1984. Dr. Kendall envisioned, created and developed dermbarMD centers to offer comprehensive skin care services, emphasing overall personal enhancement. The main office is located in an award-winning, state-of-the art facility in the heart of Coral Gables. Additionally, 6 convenient satellite offices throughout South Florida complete the dermbarMD vision. Dr. Kendall’s experiences following graduation from the UM School of Medicine reflect a diverse interest in all things Medical – Dr. Kendall spent her first post-medical graduate year studying Internal Medicine. Dermatology residency studies began at the heralded UM Department of Dermatology led by Master of Dermatology, Prof. Harvey Blank. She completed her residency studies at Vanderbilt University under the direction of acclaimed Chairman, Prof. Lloyd King. Dr. Kendall has served with distinction as a faculty member at Vanderbilt and a member of the clinical faculty at the UM. Dr. Kendall, one of the first women physicians trained, proficient and certified in Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery, is a Diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology, a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, licensed in Florida and Tennessee, a founding member of various Women’s Dermatology Societies and a member of many other highly regarded Dermatology specialty organizations. Dr. Kendall is proud to be a medical staff member of several area hospitals, as well as active in many South Florida Charitable organizations.
