About Mamta B. Jhaveri, MD
Dr. Mamta Jhaveri is a board certified dermatologist and assistant professor of dermatology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She specializes in eczema, contact dermatitis and chronic urticaria. She performs extended panel patch testing to help identify specific allergens for patients based on their history, exposures and occupation. She conducts research focused on integrative medicine in dermatology, including the role of meditation and herbal therapies. She is passionate about helping patients find their treatment fit individualized to their lifestyle to achieve their best control. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Biology from Swarthmore College. Following the completion of her undergraduate studies, she attended Georgetown University where she received her Master of Science in Complementary and Alternative Medicine. She received her Medical Degree from University of Maryland. She completed her internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Maryland: Mercy Medical Center. She then completed her dermatology residency at Emory University. She studied the role of meditation in helping chronic itch. She has also traveled to Kosovo to study common herbal plants used by Balkan natives to treat skin conditions. She is an active member and speaker for the National Eczema Association and Integrative Dermatology Symposium. She is an active member of American Academy of Dermatology, American Contact Dermatitis Society, Dermatology Foundation, National Eczema Foundation and Women’s Dermatology Society. In her free time, she enjoys yoga and meditation. She also loves traveling and trying new foods.
