About Linda J. Banta, MD
Dr. Banta completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Texas/Austin receiving a B.A. degree majoring in chemistry/biology/German. She was commissioned an officer in the military and attended the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences School of Medicine in Bethesda, MD. After finishing internship in Pensacola, FL, she served as an emergency medicine doctor in Pensacola and Bethesda. In 1988, she was selected to attend residency in Dermatology at the Naval Hospital San Diego, After completing her residency, she was selected to the teaching staff at the residency program where she received the outstanding faculty award. She finished her service in the Navy at the rank of Commander. Dr. Banta relocated from Houston from a successful practice of 17 years. Her husband, Guy, has had a business here for years. Dr. Banta has always been very active in her community. She served as President of the American Heart Association in Clearlake, TX where she received the outstanding regional volunteer award. Since coming to San Antonio, she has also become actively involved in the community including the Stone Oak Business Association. In addition, Dr. Banta is author of multiple articles and has presented at numerous national medical meetings. She has been honored and recognized as one of the TOP DOCTORS IN SAN ANTONIO. Dr. Banta, Army raised in Germany, speaks fluent German. Her husband, Guy Banta, Ph.D., M.P.H,.and former Navy Commander is retired from the corporate world and enjoys martial arts and has become an accomplished artist. Dr. Banta and her husband enjoy ballroom dancing and traveling. She adores her two shelties.
