About Leif O. Nordberg, MD
Dr. Nordberg attended Franklin and Marshall College and subsequently earned a master's degree in biomedical sciences from Drexel University. He received his medical education from the Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, graduating with multiple academic awards and culminating in his election to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Having completed five years of general surgery residency at the Temple University Hospital, he relocated to North Carolina to take a fellowship in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Wake Forest University School of Medicine under the direction of Dr. Louis Argenta. Dr. Nordberg is a Diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is currently on staff at the Stamford Hospital in Stamford, Connecticut. He has written and published multiple articles in peer-reviewed journals during his career and is active teaching surgery residents about Plastic Surgery. Dr. Nordberg's clinical interests include non-invasive procedures (Botox, fillers) and Coolsculpting®, cosmetic surgery and breast reconstruction. Dr. LEIF O. NORDBERG divides his practice between cosmetic and reconstructive surgery at Nordberg Plastic Surgery Center, following the philosophy: It’s safety first, plastic surgery second. Dr. Nordberg, who is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, has a fully accredited operating room at his center, where he performs cosmetic procedures such as breast augmentation, liposuction, abdominoplasty (tummy tucks) and face-lifts. In every cosmetic surgery he strives for youthful and natural-looking results. He is a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, which is an exclusive cosmetic plastic surgery organization taking only the most experienced aesthetic surgeons. Reconstructive surgeries are performed at his center or Stamford Hospital, and include breast reconstruction for breast cancer patients, skin cancer treatment and surgery for traumatic injuries. Dr. Nordberg has always taken the approach of doing what is best for the patient and nothing less than what he would for a member of his own family. He enjoys educating patients on procedures to ensure a full and complete understanding of the surgery and recovery. Having the benefit of a private operating suite and a close-knit and well-qualified office staff also help patients feel comfortable with whatever procedure they have chosen. Choosing to have surgery is always a big decision, and today’s patients probably know more than ever, he says. Through the Internet patients will obtain much information, sometimes helpful but sometimes inaccurate. It gives me great pleasure to meet someone for the first time and take them through the very rewarding process of aesthetic enhancement. Dr. Nordberg says that the greatest satisfaction he receives is the reaction he gets from a happy patient. When I perform a procedure and that patient returns to let me know of the compliments they’ve received, that’s what I live for, he says. His dedication to his patients combined with a trained and experienced aesthetic eye has achieved him the distinction of Top Doctor in Fairfield County, CT for four consecutive years and beyond.
