About Laura M. Jordan, DO
Dr. Laura Jordan completed her dermatology residency training at the Kansas City University Consortium Tri-County Dermatology Program following her dermatology-focused internship at University Hospitals Regional Hospitals in Richmond Heights, Ohio. Dr. Jordan comes from a multidisciplinary background which she is eager to share with her patients. Holding two masters degrees in library science and English literature, she began her career as an academic librarian at the University of Florida where she also taught part-time as an adjunct faculty member in the Department of English at Santa Fe College. Dr. Jordan then moved on to pursue a third masters degree in Biomedical Sciences in preparation for her next career in medicine. She graduated from medical school at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) in Bradenton, Florida, with her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D. O.). Dr. Jordan holds a life-long interest in writing and community service. She has published numerous peer-reviewed dermatology journal articles and chapters, presented at multiple local and national dermatology conferences, and was selected as the national first-place winner for the American Osteopathic Association history essay competition. Dr. Jordan also places high importance on community service. She served as Race Director for the Suncoast Miles for Melanoma and traveled to Jamaica on a medical mission trip during medical school. She also acted as both a mentor and participant in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training where she completed both a marathon and half-marathon race while raising funds for the society. Dr. Jordan’s participation in Team in Training prompted her deep love of running. She has completed countless distance and mid-distance races and is excited to join the Tucson running community. Perhaps you will see her on the trails! With her unique background, Dr. Jordan offers personalized care to all of her patients. She is excited to settle down in Tucson with her family.
