About Larry Degroat, DDS
For the past 40 years, Dr. Larry DeGroat has proudly offered exceptional patient care to thousands of individuals in Bingham Farms and the surrounding area. His core philosophy of being open and honest with patients and making them feel comfortable and relaxed still remains strong today. Dr. Larry DeGroat and his caring staff strive to make each patient feel welcome and cared for whenever they visit the office and work tirelessly to maintain a high level of care and treatment for all patients. A graduate of the University of Michigan and the University of Detroit Dental School, Dr. DeGroat served as a part-time faculty member at UD Dental School after graduation, teaching preclinical and clinical courses for nine years. Larry DeGroat DDS holds long-standing memberships with the American Dental Association, the Michigan Dental Association and the Oakland County Dental Society and has served in numerous capacities for the two latter groups for over 30 years. He has also been a long-time member of several other dental organizations, including the Detroit Dental Clinic Club, the International Academy, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, the American College of Dentistry and the International College of Dentistry. Dr. DeGroat has served as the Chairperson for the Michigan Dental Association since 2008, after serving as Vice Chair for 6 years, as a member of the Board of Trustees from 2005 through 2011 and as a member of the House of Delegates in 2012 and 2013. He also has served as the Chairman for the IFG Insurance Related Products Committee since 1992 and has served on the IFG Board of Directors for 17 years. Dr. DeGroat has provided his dental expertise as a defense advocate on mediation panels for dental malpractice litigation in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb and Genesee Counties.
