About Kwame S. Denianke, MD
I was very excited to join Kaiser Permanente or - perhaps it is more appropriate to say - “rejoin”. I was born at Kaiser Oakland, worked as a summer intern at Kaiser Regional Offices while at Brown University, and in 2001 completed my medical internship at Kaiser Oakland. I decided to rejoin Kaiser because I have been presented with a unique opportunity that allows me to pursue my two professional passions, dermatology and pathology. I am dividing my time evenly between seeing patients at Richmond and diagnosing skin disease under the microscope (dermatopathology) at Oakland. At times, I am able to see a patient in our dermatology clinic and look at their disease under the microscope. This is extremely gratifying because I have the ability to correlate what I see on my patients with what I see under the microscope, thus allowing me to deliver optimal care. I have always made it a priority to balance my professional and personal life--which is one reason why I am happy to be back in the Bay Area where I can resume bike-riding, playing tennis and going on local hikes. Some of my other interests include capoeira, listening to music and traveling, which much like working at Kaiser Richmond, has exposed me to a variety of cultures and people from all walks of life. Kaiser Richmond is the ideal setting for me to practice medicine because I have the opportunity to work with a great team and to provide exceptional healthcare to a diverse patient population. I thank you for taking the time to find out a little about me, and I look forward to seeing you in our Dermatology Department at Richmond.
