About Kevin Svancara, DO
Dr. Svancara is a board certified Dermatologist, born and raised in Peoria, Arizona. He earned his Eagle Scout at a young age, and, following high school, he served a two year religious mission in Santiago, Chile where he learned to speak Spanish fluently. Upon his return, he graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2009 with a degree in Biology from Arizona State University. He went on to study medicine at Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona. After completing an internship at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis, Oregon, Dr. Svancara completed his Dermatology Residency training at Advanced Desert Dermatology, an affiliate of Midwestern University in Peoria, Arizona. Throughout his training, Dr. Svancara has published articles relating to various skin diseases in Dermatology medical journals circulated throughout the United States. Dr. Svancara’s love of dermatology stems from his deep respect for the human body and skin, as many diseases manifest themselves through the skin. Thus, he enjoys diagnosing and treating all skin conditions, from acne to psoriasis, and all other chronic skin diseases. The variety offered by the dermatology field inspires Dr. Svancara. He takes special interest in treating skin cancers, and has undergone extensive training during residency in Mohs Micrographic Surgery, which offers the most effective cancer cure rates. He has also received training in performing cosmetic procedures, which offers a facet of dermatological care that he also enjoys. Dr. Svancara’s philosophy of care involves listening to his patients and then, as a partnership, engaging in shared decision making. Dr. Svancara is an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hiking, camping, fishing, and hunting. He loves sharing these joys with his three sons. He also enjoys sports and athletic activities. He spends his free time with his wife and children, and enjoys raising his family in the valley of the sun.
