About Katherine K. Farady, MD
Dr. Farady graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 1984, where she was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, the medical honor society. She completed an internship in Internal Medicine at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego. The first eleven years of her medical career were spent as a medical officer in the U.S. Navy, with assignments in San Diego, Long Beach, CA, Washington, D.C., and Charleston, S.C.. She completed her dermatology residency at the University of Texas in San Antonio in 1992. She left the Navy in 1995 and returned to her hometown of Austin to start a private practice. Dr. Farady has been board certified by the American Board of Dermatology since 1992 and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. She is a member of the Texas Medical Association, the Texas Dermatologic Association, and the Austin Dermatologic Society. She served as Secretary-Treasurer of the Austin Dermatologic Society in 1999 and as president in 2000. Dr. Farady practices general dermatology, with special interests in cosmetic dermatology, skin care, and functional medicine. When she is not treating patients, she enjoys traveling, reading and writing. On any given weekend you can usually find her on the tennis court.
