About Julie Cantatore-Francis, MD
Dr. Cantatore-Francis is a board certified dermatologist and pediatric dermatologist. After graduating magna cum laude from Williams College with highest honors in biology, she received her medical degree from Stony Brook University School of Medicine and was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha national medical honor society. She completed a pediatric internship at North Shore-Long Island Jewish /Schneider Children’s Hospital and was a dermatology resident and chief resident at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. Dr. Cantatore-Francis went on to do a pediatric dermatology fellowship at New York University. While she specializes in pediatric dermatology, her practice encompasses all aspects of general and cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Cantatore-Francis has published numerous articles in dermatology and pediatric dermatology and has presented at nationwide conferences for the American Academy of Dermatology and the Society for Pediatric Dermatology. She was appointed to the FDA’s General and Plastic Surgery Devices Panel, which is responsible for wound healing devices, esthetic injectable wrinkle fillers, and cosmetic implants. Dr. Cantatore-Francis is a long-time supporter of the AAD-sponsored Camp Discovery, a summer camp for children with chronic skin conditions. Her camp roles have included counselor, governing committee member, medical staff, and medical director. When not out and about with her husband and three young sons, Dr. Cantatore-Francis finds time to cook and to go running outdoors (wearing her sunblock, of course).
