About Joseph Zakhary, MD
Dr. Joseph Zakhary is a compassionate surgeon who treats his patients with utmost respect and kindness. He is focused on working with his patients and their families to deliver results one case at a time. Dr. Zakhary emphasizes that each patient should understand their care plan, and spends time to concisely and clearly map out his patients’ care. He enjoys taking the time to individually know his patients, and works patiently to learn their expectations so he can devise an approach that yields the best results. Using his immense skills in plastic surgery, he works to give patients the most functional and cosmetic results towards restoration of both the body and mind. Many patients who have worked with Dr. Zakhary remember his thorough approach and commitment to results. Dr. Zakhary concluded his 6-year general surgery education at the Louisiana State University in 2015. Over the next 3 years, he went on to hone his plastic surgery skills at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). This is a hospital acknowledged to be the leading regional health center in South, as well as one of the biggest hospital systems nationwide. While at Birmingham, he worked with and learned from the best names in cosmetic surgery, and acquired specialist training in breast reconstruction procedures. Dr. Zakhary attributes his immense understanding of plastic surgery and practical skills on the operating table to opportunities provided to him while at LSU and UAB. After nearly a decade of training since medical school, Dr. Zakhary now specializes in breast reconstruction, microsurgery, facial and body rejuvenation, complex hand surgery, plastics traumatology and post-surgical reconstruction.
