About Joseph W. Aguiar, MD

Dr. Joseph W. Aguiar is a board-certified plastic surgeon. Over his 20 year career, he has received numerous awards for his outstanding patient care and surgical expertise. Dr. Aguiar always has his patient’s best interest in mind first and foremost. He always strives to provide his patient with the best possible outcome while meeting their expectations. He even has a formula to help patient’s achieve their goals. Dr. Aguiar has also completed fellowships and continuing education in plastic surgery, breast surgery, microsurgery, maxillofacial trauma and reconstruction, fat grafting, and rhinoplasty. Dr. Aguiar earned his medical degree at the University of Iowa’s College of Medicine in 1991, completed his General Surgery residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, his Plastic Surgery residency at Indiana University Medical Center, and his Hand Surgery residency at the University of South Florida in Tampa. Fluent in Portuguese, Dr. Aguiar trained with world renowned plastic and cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Ivo Pitanguy in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He is a member of the Florida Medical Association, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the Tampa Bay Plastic Surgery Society.
