About Jonathan E. Blume, MD
Dr. Blume joined Westwood Dermatology in 2006. He practices general dermatology, and enjoys treating individuals of all ages. His particular areas of interest include total body scans for the detection and treatment of cancerous and precancerous lesions, treatment of common pediatric conditions including acne, eczema, and warts, and minor dermatologic surgery. Dr. Blume is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and International Society of Dermatology. He is a member of the dermatology faculty at Columbia University – College of Physicians and Surgeons, and supervises dermatology residents at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Blume has authored multiple textbook chapters and medical journal articles on a variety of dermatologic subjects. Since joining Westwood Dermatology, Dr. Blume has provided a variety of skin cancer screenings for the local community. Dr. Blume graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. degree in Biology from the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey in 1998. He then earned his medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in 2002, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Blume then completed his internship in Internal Medicine and residency in Dermatology at the State University of New York at Buffalo. A large portion of Dr. Blume’s residency took place at Roswell Park Cancer Institute, where he developed an expertise and interest in skin cancer. He also served as Chief Resident in Dermatology during his final year of training. Dr. Blume is Board Certified in Dermatology.
