About John Tang, MD
Dr. John Tang, MD, graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Biological Sciences and a minor in Psychology from UC Irvine, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He attended Tufts University Medical School and received the Alumni Scholarship Award. He completed a 3-year residency in Internal Medicine at the Kaiser Hospital and a 3-year residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Stanford University. After his scholarly training, Dr. Tang received general and cosmetic dermatology training in a private dermatology office in Southern California. He also received advanced training in Botox, Restylane, Radiesse, Juvederm, Perlane, Dysport and Sculptra by fellow plastic surgeons, including Dr. Bradley Green, Dr. Applebaum. Dr. Tang is certified in Mesotherapy, Laser Liposuction, and Vaser Liposuction by the American Society of Aesthetics and Mesotherapy (ASAM). He received advanced training in laser liposuction with Dr. Vivek Bansal. Dr. Tang has been recognized as a Diamond Level injector — the top designation — for his extensive experience with Restylane, Dysport, and Sculptra. He also shares his expertise for Lumenis, training new physicians and company hires on the clinical applications of IPL, laser hair removal, and Aluma. Dr. Tang was recognized by Consumers’ Research Council of America as “America’s Top Physicians 2012”, Global Register’s Who’s Who in 2006, has been the recipient of the American Medical Association Physician Recognition Award, and was named as San Jose Magazine’s Top Doc in 2008. He has published several articles in the field of aesthetic medicine, and has been quoted in publications such as the San Jose Mercury, the Contra Costa Times, and Online Suite Magazine. His expertise has been featured on the NBC Bay Area news, as well as Chanel 2 KTVU news. As an active member of the American Academy of Anti-Aging, Dr. Tang keeps up to date with the latest research and treatments in bio-identical hormone replacement, nutritional supplementation, and skin rejuvenation procedures. He is a member of the American Society of Laser Surgery Medicine (ASLMS) which provides the most up-to-date information on the latest advancements in laser breakthroughs. Dr. Tang is also a Member of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M), the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS), and the Botox Cosmetics Physician Network. He is at the forefront of technology, recently adding the use of autologous stem cells for various indications such as knee osteoarthritis and facial cosmetics.
