About Jerome H. Liu, MD
Dr. Jerome H. Liu specializes in aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery of the face, breast, and body. Dr. Liu combines compassionate care and technical expertise to help patients achieve their aesthetic goals. Dr. Liu is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. Dr. Liu discovered his passion for surgery early in life and was one of a few select high school students with a guaranteed admission to medical school as part of Brown University’s medical education program. After Brown University, Dr. Liu completed his medical education at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine where he graduated with one of the highest honors possible, membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. Dr. Jerome Liu completed his general surgery and plastic surgery training at the UCLA Medical Center, rated “Best in The West” by US News and World Reports. While Dr. Liu was at UCLA, he received multiple research and teaching awards. In addition, he won a National Research Service Award, a grant from a branch of the National Institutes of Health and Veterans Administration to obtain a masters degree in health services research. During that time, he investigated surgical and health care quality in the United States. After graduating from the UCLA Plastic Surgery Fellowship, Dr. Liu was offered a position as an Assistant Instructor and Aesthetic Fellow at the prestigious University of Texas Southwestern (UTSW) Medical Center and Dallas Plastic Surgery Institute (DPSI). UTSW is one of the most coveted sub-specialty fellowships in the United States dedicated to specialized training in aesthetic plastic surgery. During this time, Dr. Liu learned from plastic surgery luminaries and international leaders and studied techniques for facelift surgery, rhinoplasty, breast augmentation, and body contouring. Dr. Jerome Liu is an active contributor to his specialty and community. He is an author or co-author of over 50 peer reviewed articles, chapters, and abstract covering topics on rhinoplasty (nose surgery), facelift, browlift, Asian eyelid surgery, breast reconstruction, and surgical outcomes and quality. Dr. Liu’s articles have been published in leading journals including Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Aesthetic Surgery Journal, Journal of the American Medical Association, and the Breast Journal. Because of his experience, insight, and reputation, Dr. Liu has been invited to serve as a consultant and advisory board member for companies with commercial products for plastic surgeons. He is involved with companies producing and manufacturing breast implants, facial aesthetic devices, biologic tissue, and scar management devices. In addition, he is also a regular guest faculty lecturer for the premier rhinoplasty course, The Dallas Rhinoplasty Symposium, which draws plastic surgeons from around the world.
