About Jennifer S. Ruth, MD
Dr. Ruth is a native Texan who recently returned to Austin with her husband, daughter, and dogs. She is passionate about caring for children with skin issues. When not spending time with patients, she loves teaching her daughter how to be an Austinite and enjoying the outdoors (with sunscreen!) My love of medicine began with caring for animals as a kid. My first dermatology patient was actually a pony - I tried every cream I could get my hands on to make him better! As I matured, I discovered that caring for people in the practice of medicine is extraordinarily rewarding. After working with several wonderful pediatric dermatologists during my training, I was hooked. Practicing pediatric dermatology allows me to care for children and their families, teach and mentor learners, and work with colleagues for whom I have the utmost respect.
