About Jennifer S. Peterson, DO
Dr. Jennifer Peterson spent two years practicing medicine in her Las Vegas hometown before joining the Spectrum Dermatology team. She is skilled in both general medical and cosmetic dermatology and excels in treating a wide range of dermatological conditions. Dr. Peterson’s commitment to dermatology began when she was a patient herself. As a teenager, she struggled with acne, and after she received expert dermatological care, she was inspired to become a dermatologist. She received her undergraduate degree in Health Sciences in Physiology from the University of Arizona and her medical degree from Touro University Nevada. During her graduate training, Dr. Peterson received several honors for her clinical clerkship appointments, including the Dean’s Award for Academic Achievement. Dr. Peterson completed her dermatology residency at Midwestern University in Arizona. Her medical training continued with rotations at Phoenix Children’s Hospital where she served as Chief Resident. Here, Dr. Peterson was also awarded numerous accolades for excellence, as well as for her dedication to serving as a peer mentor and role model. Her passions include community education and outreach programs. Dr. Peterson’s volunteer experience includes participating in free community skin cancer screening clinics during Skin Cancer Awareness Month and helping the dermatology initiative at the Phoenix children’s hospital known as St. Andrew’s Children’s Clinic in Arizona. Beyond her dermatological interests, Dr. Peterson also enjoys international travel, fitness, reading, cooking—and cheering on the Wildcats.
