About Jennifer B. Perone, MD
Dr. Jennifer Perone is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology, a Fellow of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the American Academy of Dermatology. From 2006 to 2009, she was on faculty at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where she has served as both Director of Dermatologic Surgery at Parkland Hospital and Director of Dermatologic Surgery at the Dallas VA Medical Center. Dr. Perone graduated cum laude from Princeton University, and received her M.D. from New York University School of Medicine; she completed an internship in internal medicine at Columbia University’s St. Lukes-Roosevelt Hospital and residency training in dermatology at Duke University Medical Center. Her fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Surgery was performed at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Named one of D Magazine’s Best Doctors of 2010, Dr. Perone participates yearly in multiple skin cancer screenings offered free to the public. In her faculty position at UTSW, she has trained fellows, residents, and medical students in dermatology, Mohs surgery, and cosmetic dermatology. She is the author of several articles and textbook chapters, and has lectured at national dermatology meetings. Dr. Perone is well respected by physicians in other disciplines, as demonstrated by her recent publication of a lead article in Seminars in Plastic Surgery.
