About Jennifer M. Fu, MD
Dr. Fu grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. She received her bachelor’s degree in Biology at Harvard University and attended medical school at Cornell University. She moved to the Bay Area in 2005 for her dermatology residency at the University of California, San Francisco. She went on to complete both her dermatology residency and a fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Procedural Dermatology at UCSF. Dr. Fu remains on faculty at UCSF, directing the Hair Clinic along with her mentor Dr. Vera Price and colleagues Dr. Paradi Mirmirani and Dr. Ingrid Roseborough. In her private practice, Dr. Fu sees patients with a broad variety of skin issues. Her special areas of interest include non-scarring and scarring forms of hair loss. She also brings her expertise in cutaneous oncology, Mohs micrographic surgery and surgical reconstruction, to the evaluation and treatment of skin cancers and nail tumors. Dr. Fu is an active member of the National Alopecia Areata Foundation and serves as medical editor for the Cicatricial Alopecia Research Foundation.
