About Jeffrey L. Wexler, MD
Jeffrey L. Wexler, M.D. is a board-certified member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and National Board of Medical Examiners, the Maryland Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a clinical instructor at the Wilmer Eye Institute of the Johns Hopkins Hospital and on the staff of several area hospitals and surgery centers. He is Ophthalmology Chief at Howard County General Hospital, Johns Hopkins Medicine. His specialties include cataract and glaucoma surgery, eyelid surgery, and laser surgery of the eyes. Dr. Wexler’s special interest is Laser Vision Correction for nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism. His is an expert in difficult refractive errors and has performed thousands of refractive procedures. Dr. Wexler graduated with Distinction from Pennsylvania State University in 1982 with a B.S. in Microbiology. Dr. Wexler then received his medical degree from SUNY Health Science Center at Syracuse in 1986. He completed his internship at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C, followed by residency training in Ophthalmology at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore where he served as Chief Resident form 1989-1990. Following residency training, Dr. Wexler joined Physicians Eye Care and Laser Center. As an Ophthalmologist, Dr. Wexler continues to do research, teach, and serves as a consultant to the pharmaceutical industry. He has helped thousands of patients attain their visual goals with medical and surgical treatments for cataract, glaucoma, and Laser Vision Correction.
