About Jeffrey T. Bortz, MD
Dr. Jeffrey T. Bortz received his Bachelor of Science degree in biology, with distinction, at Iowa State University. He then completed his medical school training at the University of Iowa, where he had the opportunity to participate in the Senior Honors Research Fellowship Program and was elected to the College of Medicine Continuing Medical Education Committee. After completing an internship in internal medicine at Boston University, Dr. Bortz completed his residency training and served as Chief Resident at the Stanford University Department of Dermatology. Following this, he completed a one year skin cancer surgery fellowship in Australia, which included comprehensive training in Mohs micrographic surgery, surgical reconstruction, and skin cancer management. Dr. Bortz is one of the few fellowship-trained Mohs surgeons in the Bay Area. He is also an Adjunct Assistant Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Stanford University, and regularly lectures and instructs Stanford Dermatology residents regarding skin cancer surgical techniques.Dr. Bortz is Board Certified by the American Board of Dermatology.
