About Jeffrey M. Ahn, MD
Dr. Jeffrey Ahn is a leading Head & Neck surgeon who specializes in sinus surgery and Trans-Oral-Robotic Surgery. He is board certified in both Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery and Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, with a depth of academic and clinical experience in both fields. At present, Dr. Ahn works as the Medical Director of Park Avenue Sinus & Sleep Center in New York, and also holds a faculty position at University of Pennsylvania, Perelman School of Medicine as an Associate Professor of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery. Dr. Ahn received his medical degree from Columbia University, College of Physicians & Surgeons in 1987 and completed his residency training in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at Columbia University Medical Center. After fellowship training in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at New York University, he returned to Columbia in 1996 to become a full-time faculty member in the College of Physicians & Surgeons. Over the course of his twenty-year career at Columbia, Dr. Ahn served as Director of Resident Training, Director of Facial Plastic Surgery, and Director of Sleep Disorder & Robotic Surgery in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery; for ten years, he also served as Director of the 4th Year Medical Student Rotation. Dr. Ahn was among the first surgeons in the world to perform da Vinci ® transoral robotic surgeries (TORS) for obstructive sleep apnea, and is responsible for the successful establishment of the Trans-Oral Robotic Surgery (TORS) Program for Obstructive Sleep Apnea at Columbia. He has also collaborated with Dr. Jeremy Mao in tissue engineering research at Columbia’s Center for Craniofacial Regeneration, under a grant from the National Institute of Health (NIH).
