About James H. Boehmler, MD
Dr. James H. Boehmler earned his Bachelor Degree in Chemistry at the University of Chicago and his Medical Degree at the University of Rochester. After completing the Plastic Surgery Residency at Georgetown University and Microsurgery Fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center, Dr. Boehmler spent five years on the Plastic Surgery faculty at The Ohio State University, where he concentrated his early efforts on cancer reconstruction, with an emphasis on breast reconstruction. He founded the Microsurgery Fellowship training program at Ohio State and was its Director for four years. He has published research papers on microsurgery and breast reconstruction and has given presentations at local, regional, and national Plastic Surgery meetings. He is active in several national Plastic Surgery societies and serves on multiple committees in order to better advance the field of reconstructive surgery. He is proud to be board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Boehmler was raised in Minnesota and married his high school sweetheart after college. They have lived in Illinois, New York, Maryland, and Ohio before being called to the great State of Texas. They are the proud parents of six young children who keep them extremely busy. In his limited free time, he enjoys barbecue, reading, church activities, golf and football.
