About Jacob M. Bloom, MD
Dr. Jacob Bloom is a Chicago-native who is excited at the opportunity to continue to offer his skills and expertise to his home city through his private plastic surgery practice, Bloom Plastic Surgery! Board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Bloom is a well-respected cosmetic and reconstructive surgeon, with expertise in the treatment of conditions of the hand. The author of numerous peer-reviewed articles published in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (PRS), the Aesthetic Surgery Journal, and the Journal of Hand Surgery (JHS), he has presented his work at several international conferences. Dr. Bloom received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan, then graduated at the top of his class from Chicago Medical School. He completed a coveted Plastic Surgery Residency at the highly-prestigious University of Rochester Medical Center in New York, then continued his training in hand surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical Center’s teaching hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. During his years of training, he won numerous awards, including two awards for outstanding research, and was honored with elections to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society (AOA) and the Gold Humanism in Medicine Honor Society.
