About Ivan D. Camacho, MD
A caring and compassionate physician, Dr. Camacho received his Doctorate of Medicine with honors from the Colegio Mayor de Nuestra Señora del Rosario in Bogota, Colombia, where he enrolled at the age of 15. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital and his specialty training in Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where he had the honor of serving as Chief Resident. In addition to being a dedicated clinician, Dr. Camacho is a natural educator. He currently practices as a Voluntary Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the University of Miami Department of Dermatology, where he teaches dermatology residents in medical and cosmetic dermatology. He has also served as the Medical Director of the Jackson Memorial Hospital Dermatology Clinic, one of the major training sites for dermatology residents at the University of Miami. Dr. Camacho was recognized by dermatology residents with the Dedication to Resident Teaching Award. Dr. Camacho is also very active within the dermatology community. He is the current President of the Miami Society for Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery, a combined community- and academic-based society serving the dermatology providers in South Florida. He also serves as a Delegate of the American Academy of Dermatology Advisory Board. Dr. Camacho is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. He is also a member of the American Society for Mohs Surgery, the American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery and the International Society of Dermatology.
