About Ian C. Tingey, DDS
Ian was born in Windsor, Ontario, Canada on February 7, 1957. He was raised in Canada, living most of his life in Windsor, and still today retains his Canadian citizenship. Following the completion of high school in 1976, Ian attended undergraduate school at the University of Windsor in a B.Sc. program until 1978. He began his professional career by attending dental school immediately following undergraduate school at the University of Western Ontario graduating in 1982 with the D.D.S. degree. After completing a one year internship in hospital dentistry at the University of Western Ontario, He immediately proceeded to a program in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Connecticut Health Center. Ian not only entered into a clinical training program with the University of Connecticut but also a Master of Dental Science Program. He formally completed his residency and received his certificate in oral and maxillofacial surgery in June of 1987. From the completion of his training program forward, Ian has worked in the private medical community of Northern Connecticut in a practice limited to the practice of oral and maxillofacial surgery. Ian is currently a partner in Connecticut Maxillofacial Surgeons, L.L.C.. He served as a past Director of the Fellowship Program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and was recently appointed as Director of the Section of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center. Ian has been involved with residency training for many years including the teaching program at the University of Connecticut Affiliated Residency Program where he is a Clinical Associate. In addition, he served on the Academic Educational Council and is a past Director of Residency Training at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center. He is a member of the Senior Active Attending Staff at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center as well as being on the Active Staff at New Britain General Hospital. He is a member of the Senior Active Attending Staff at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center and holds a Courtesy Staff appointment at Hartford Hospital. As a pass time Ian enjoys playing golf and hockey, and shares his personal life with his wife Jan and his two sons Alex and Evan.
