About Gloria Brennan, Aesthetician Specialist
Gloria Brennan is a dynamic and unique woman. She was born in Colombia, South America and became a United States citizen while living and working in New York City. After moving to Baltimore, her artistic talents lead her to open About Faces, Maryland’s first day spa. Gloria currently maintains an independent practice specializing in Permanent Make-Up. One of Gloria’s most outstanding accomplishments happened in 1972 when she became the first Licensed Aesthetician in the State of Maryland, making Maryland a forerunner in the U.S. in the field of skin care and makeup application. She pioneered this new field and taught hundreds of women who then obtained their certification. Consequentially, Maryland is among the first of states in the nation to recognize the aesthetics industry. Since 2001, Gloria has concentrated on the practice of Permanent Make-Up which has become a growing trend among women and men of all age groups. Gloria created About Faces Day Spa in 1973. By way of her background as a model in New York City, she learned and passed on to others, how to achieve a look of maximum beauty. She established a modeling school and agency, The World of Faces, with clients including Head Skiwear, London Fog and many top advertising agencies for print media, fashion catalogs, and runway fashion shows. As result of all this experience, Gloria became committed to sharing her expertise with hundreds more women. For more than 30 years, Gloria has contributed to the greater community in her volunteer efforts. Non-profits who have benefited from her leadership and generosity include the American Lung Association, The Chimes, The House of Ruth, and the Governor’s Committee for Hispanic Affairs and other institutions.
