About Gabriel Patino, MD
Dr. Patino is the Chief Medical Director of The Cosmetic Surgical Center of El Cerrito, in El Cerrito, California. Dr. Gabriel Patino has practiced medicine since 1981. He began training in a level I Trauma Center at the U.C. Davis General Surgery East Bay Program after graduating from medical school. While Dr. Patino was working in the trauma center, he had the opportunity to perform various kinds of major surgery. Dr. Patino then completed his internal medicine residency at the California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. Dr. Patino is Board Certified and Re-Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. In 1989, Dr. Patino started his private practice as an emergency surgeon at Saint Mary’s Medical Center in San Francisco. He was the medical director of the surgical house staff at Saint Mary’s for ten years (1991-2001). Saint Mary’s was a major open heart surgery center. While at Saint Mary’s, Dr. Patino performed multiple emergency open heart surgeries on a daily basis for twelve years. He supervised the surgical house staff and the medical residents in intensive care and directed all resuscitations. He provided surgical consultations and assisted the Emergency Room Physicians with difficult intubations and complex lacerations.
