About Frank A. Vicari, MD
Dr. Frank Vicari is currently Chief of Pediatric Plastic Surgery / Craniofacial Surgery at the new Advocate Children’s Hospital on the campus of Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, IL. He has been caring for children with complex congenital and acquired disorders throughout the Chicagoland area and around the world for over 25 years. Dr. Vicari has pioneered new techniques and programs designed to serve children and families with difficult diagnoses throughout his career. He was among the first in the world to perform minimally invasive, endoscopic-assisted repairs for craniosynostosis and has pioneered mandibular distraction for airway management in children with small lower jaws (mandibles). Dr. Vicari is also responsible for the creation of our Head Shape Evaluation Clinic for the diagnosis and treatment of children with facial or cranial asymmetry from positional molding, torticollis, and synostosis.
