About Farah K. Shah, MD
Farah Shah, M.D. has been practicing dermatology since 1994. After graduating from the prestigious Duke University with a B.A. in Psychology, she moved to Texas where she completed her medical degree at UT-Houston Medical School. She subsequently did a Pediatrics residency at Baylor College of Medicine and then a Dermatology residency at SUNY-Buffalo in New York. After completion of her training, Dr. Shah joined the faculty at Texas Tech Health Sciences Center where she was Assistant Professor of Dermatology and Pediatrics. In addition to training residents, she started a Pediatric Dermatology Center which became a referral source for difficult cases. Dr. Shah’s desire to be closer to her family brought her back to Houston in 1999 which is when she joined Houston Dermatology Associates. Dr. Shah’s expertise is in Adult and Pediatric Dermatology, skin cancer surgery and cosmetic dermatology. She has been an author on multiple publications, including several textbook chapters. She has been recognized by her peers since 1996 as “Top Doc” by Inside Houston magazine, as well as “Best Doctors in America” and “America’s Top Physician”. Dr. Shah is dedicated to providing comprehensive dermatologic care for patients of all ages. Her focus is preventative skin care, skin cancer and atypical mole detection and treatment, skin disease treatment and skin health maintenance. Cosmetic interests include Botox, chemical peels, dermal fillers and anti-aging skin treatments. Dr. Shah is fluent in Spanish. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband, Dr. Greg Stocks, and their four children.
