About Evelyn M. Placek, MD
Dr. Placek graduated manga cum laude from Colgate University, where she was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. She completed her premedical training at Columbia University and received her medical degree from Cornell University Medical College. While at Cornell, she served as faculty advisor to her peers, performed medical research and published several papers. She completed a residency in internal medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital and a dermatology residency at Weill Cornell Medical Center, where in her final year she was selected to be chief resident .She is board certified in both internal medicine and dermatology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. She is a member of the New York State Medical Society, the Westchester Dermatology Society and past-president of the dermatology section of the Westchester County Medical Society. Dr. Placek was in practice with Dermatology Consultants of Westchester for over 24 years until the group joined Westmed in May 2013. She specializes in skin cancer as well as in cosmetic dermatology, and has advanced training in Botox/ Dysport injections, glycolic and salicylic acid peels, laser treatments, spider vein injections and the use of filler agents such as Restylane and Juvaderm. She volunteers at skin cancer screenings at local hospitals and businesses.
