About Eric A. Humble, MD
Patients who work with Dr. Eric Humble are in the caring hands of someone who is living into a missional approach to medicine – a person of passion and vision who believes that the work of plastic surgery is the work of life transformation. Ironically, Dr. Humble did not originally set a path to become a plastic surgeon. After graduating with honors from the University of Florida, Dr. Humble attended the University of Louisville School of Medicine, where he received his Doctorate of Medicine. Employing his instinctive talents as a surgical candidate, Dr. Humble went on to complete a residency in Head and Neck surgery with the Department of Otolaryngology at the East Virginia Medical School in Norfolk. Among the mentors who helped guide Dr. Humble through the surgical residency was Dr. James Caraway, a famous plastic surgeon who saw in him the combination of surgical skill, caring attitude and the instinctive artistic capability necessary for a plastic surgeon. It was here that his life took the turn that brings him to the practice he enjoys today. What convinced Dr. Humble to modify his course was something he learned from Dr. Caraway – that patients who opt for plastic surgery and self-transformation live an average of 7 years longer than the average person. This knowledge affected Dr. Humble deeply and he went on to complete a second full residency in the field of Plastic and Reconstructive surgery at the University of Eastern Tennessee. He has never looked back and continues to grow in his profession, always seeking the opportunity to work with others who are leaders in the field. Dr. Humble is a standing member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and, since settling in Texas, has been named a Houston Top Doctor and is showcased by Newsweek Magazine as a “best of the best” nationally.
