About Emily M. Mintz, MD

Emily M. Mintz, M.D. is a board certified dermatologist who is pleased to have relocated from Manhattan to her native Houston where she joined Houston Dermatology Associates. She completed her dermatology residency at Columbia University Medical Center and then practiced medical and cosmetic dermatology in Manhattan, NY and River Edge, NJ until a desire to be closer to family brought her home to Houston in September 2014. Dr. Mintz received her undergraduate education at University of Texas at Austin, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa academic honor society. She graduated summa cum laude from the Plan II Honors Program and then pursued her medical studies at University of Texas Medical School at Houston. There she was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Mintz completed her internship in internal medicine at New York University Medical Center and her dermatology residency at Columbia. Prior to her move, she volunteered as a clinical instructor in Dermatology at Columbia, where she enjoyed teaching residents and medical students. She has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters and has presented at several national meetings, including the American Academy of Dermatology and Society for Pediatric Dermatology annual meetings. Dr. Mintz enjoys providing comprehensive dermatologic care to patients of all ages. Clinical interests include acne, psoriasis, pediatric dermatology, cutaneous manifestations of systemic disease, and skin cancer early detection and treatment. She offers many cosmetic procedures including chemical peels, cosmetic fillers, Botox, and laser surgery. When not practicing Dermatology, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. Her hobbies include distance running and scuba diving.
