About Elizabeth M. Duncan, Aesthetician Specialist
Betsy (The Spa Nerd) is a Florida native and grew up in Fort Myers, Florida. Her passion for massage was discovered in High School Theater where she would give shoulder massages to classmates. Wanting to learn more, she attended Heritage Institute for 1,000 hours, becoming a nationally certified massage therapist in 2005. She then worked with chiropractors and physical therapist for several years, focusing on helping people with injuries. In 2007 Betsy started working at Hyatt Regency Coconut Point in Bonita Springs, FL. She transferred the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort and Spa in 2011. Betsy started her career with Hyatt as a on call Massage therapist and has worked her way up to Lead/Training Spa technician. From 2010-2012 Betsy taught massage therapy at Cortiva Institute where she enjoyed teaching Swedish, Hot Stones, Prenatal, Chair Massage and Hydrotherapy. In 2014 she attended Sunstate Academy in Clearwater, Fl for their Full Specialty program. The program focused on skin care, nail care/ treatments and makeup. She has worked on several movie and commercial sets massaging cast and crew. Her detail to service has awarded her the recognition of several celebrity clients, and her nickname “Mighty Mouse” from an NFL player. Her favorite massage modalities are Swedish, Therapeutic, Hot Stone, Warm Shell and Aromatherapy. Her passion for skin care, massage, nails and health and well-being is what started this blog. She hopes to share her 11+ years in the spa industry with the reader in efforts to share her passion and to pass on her tips and advice in all things spa!
