About Edward F. Ryan, DO
Dr. Ryan is a graduate of Archmere Academy and Boston College. He attended medical school at The Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating as a member of Sigma Sigma Pi, the National Osteopathic Medical Student Honor Society. Dr. Ryan trained in internal medicine at Bryn Mawr Hospital and his dermatology residence at Hahnemann University Hospital where he was chief resident in 1984-1985. He won the Residents Forum First Prize at the Pennsylvania Academy of Dermatology Annual meeting in 1984. Dr Ryan has practiced clinical dermatology in the suburbs of Philadelphia for 29 years and is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology with recertification in 2009. In addition to seeing patients he also frequently precepts residents and medical students and is clinical associate professor of Internal Medicine (Dermatology) at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Ryan served as scientific chairman, secretary/treasurer and president of The Philadelphia Dermatological Society from 1990-1993 and was the Atlantic Dermatological Conference co-chair in 1994. Dr. Ryan has been involved in product testing including repeat insult patch testing for numerous cosmetic products. He is a frequent speaker on acne and rosacea diagnosis and treatment. Dr. Ryan is experienced in all areas of general dermatology and skin cancer detection and treatment.
