About Edward Berzin, MD

Specializing in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery, Dr. Edward Berzin understands the significance of the decision to have plastic surgery and offers his patients the best options and latest information before finalizing any plans. “I prefer not to schedule surgery before meeting with the patient several times,” expresses Dr. Berzin. “I spend an extraordinary amount of time with my patients during their consultations. We discuss in great detail their goals and desires, and I educate them about possible procedures to meet these goals. All of my patients may receive reading material, video information, and internet information to review before making any decisions. We also incorporate into the consultation a computer-imaging program that allows my patients to view generated images of their possible post-operative results. This process is very lengthy, but I strongly feel my patients benefits from it.” Because Dr. Berzin spends such a great deal of time forming trusting relationships with his patients, he is often source of referral for many other physicians in the Houston area. His aesthetic plastic surgery practice has grown mostly based on patient referral, and he has applied his aesthetic talents to breast cancer reconstruction, facial skin cancer reconstruction, lower extremity reconstruction and Brachial Plexus reconstruction. Aside from managing a widely successful private practice, Dr. Berzin as a clinical faculty member, is very active in the education of plastic surgery residents at Baylor College of Medicine and Methodist Hospital. He is involved in his community, his kids’ schools and has been an invited medical expert on the radio. Dr. Edward Berzin is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He received his medical doctorate from Baylor College of Medicine in 1994. He went to New York for the general surgery portion of his training, and then returned to Baylor in 1997 to complete his plastic surgery residency along with a fellowship in microsurgery and peripheral nerve surgery. He has published numerous articles on variety of topics in plastic surgery, is frequently an invited lecturer to both civic groups as well as academic groups, and volunteers in teaching the plastic surgery residents at Baylor and Methodist. Dr. Berzin is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Our primary office location is in the Texas Medical Center (Houston, Texas) and a satellite location in Kingwood, Texas. He is fluent in both Spanish and Russian and his clinical interests include a variety of procedures, with the more challenging cases being his favorites.
