About Deana S. Shenaq, MD
Deana Shenaq, MD is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and Associate Program Director of the Plastic Surgery Fellowship program. Dr. Shenaq specializes in microvascular reconstruction of oncologic defects of the head and neck, breast, lower extremity and perineum. She has a special interest in lymphedema surgery and performs lymph node transfer and lymphovenous bypass procedures. Dr. Shenaq also performs the full spectrum of aesthetic surgery, including body contouring after weight loss. She completed medical school at The University of Chicago, graduating with Honors and was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha. She a finished an integrated Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Residency at The University of Chicago Medical Center, and then pursued an advanced Fellowship in Reconstructive Microsurgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where she worked with nationally recognized experts in oncologic reconstruction. Her research interests include patient reported outcomes in breast reconstruction, surgical education and quality improvement.
